What an experience this was. Lean and Shandre love travelling. They love people. They love communities. This wedding was everything about family, friends, loving and giving. They decided to get married at The Hole in the Wall, Coffee Bay in Transkei. The place where they wanted to get married, belongs to a chief. As a token of their appreciation to be able to have their ceremony there, they ( bride and groom to be with guests and family) did some community work the day before the wedding in the little villages. A beautiful gesture that brought a lot of smiles 🙂
Some of the guests already arrived a week before to get the most of this beautiful venue. Barbeques and cozy fires at night, sun tanning and exploring during the day. Sunshine galore :). The day before the wedding it started to drizzle, and then zero electricity, even into the next day. (But fear not when Lean is near cause there was nothing that he did not think of – even the generators made their way all the way from Gauteng so at least the bridal party could make themselves pretty) On the day of the wedding, the heavens opened! Through extremely slippery roads, up and down hills and lots and lots of rain, the guests made their way safely down to The hole in the wall for the ceremony (a tent right infront of the picturesque background). Then back to the beach (tent, infront of the hotel ) the real feast began and lasted long into the early hours of the morning.
Truly a different but warm, loving and beautiful wedding weekend that I will remember and treasure for a long time. Thank you to all you beautiful people. I felt part of the family !
